Motif Akademi Journal – Writing Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted to Motif Akademi must adhere to the journal’s writing guidelines to ensure scientific quality and academic formatting.
The following rules outline the key aspects that authors must consider during the submission process.
General Formatting
Font and Size:
- All text must be written in Baskerville, 11 pt.
Margins:
- Top and bottom margins: 2.5 cm, left and right margins: 2 cm.
Paragraph Structure:
- The text should be fully justified, and word splitting at the end of lines should be avoided.
- There should be a single line space between paragraphs, with no indentation at the beginning of paragraphs.
Headings:
- Main headings (Introduction, Methodology, Findings, Discussion, and Conclusion) must be written in uppercase, bold, and 11 pt.
- Subheadings should be in title case, bold, and should not follow hierarchical numbering.
Emphasis:
- Italics or quotation marks (“ ”) should be used instead of bold text for emphasis.
Article Title and Author Information
Title:
- The article title must be written in Baskerville, 14 pt, bold, left-aligned.
- Only the first letter of each major word should be capitalized.
Author Names and Information:
- Author names must be provided along with their affiliations and ORCID numbers.
- The corresponding author must be clearly identified, and their contact details should be included.
Abstract and Keywords
Abstract:
- The manuscript must include abstracts in both Turkish and English.
- Each abstract should be 150-200 words and written in past tense.
- Abstracts should not include tables, figures, or citations.
- They should not contain information that is not discussed in the article.
Keywords:
- 3-5 keywords must be included in both languages.
- Keywords should be written in lowercase and separated by commas.
Section Structure
The manuscript must include the following sections:
1. Introduction:
- The theoretical framework, literature review, and research questions must be explained.
- No subheadings should be used.
2. Methodology:
- The study design, sample, data collection tools, and procedures must be detailed.
- Data analysis, validity, and reliability considerations should be addressed.
3. Findings:
- Research findings should be presented with supporting tables and figures.
- Interpretation of findings may also be included in this section.
4. Discussion and Conclusion:
- Findings should be compared with the literature, and the practical implications of the research should be explained.
- Recommendations may be included.
5. Author Declaration:
- Contribution of each author, conflict of interest statement, and acknowledgments should be included.
Tables and Figures
Placement:
- Tables and figures should be embedded within the text at appropriate points rather than being provided as appendices.
Font Style:
- Tables should be prepared in Baskerville, 12 pt.
- Table titles must be placed above the table, while figure captions should be placed below the figure.
Numbering:
- Tables and figures should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.
Citations and References
Quotations:
- Direct quotations should be indented by 1 cm from the left margin and written in 9 pt.
References:
- All references must follow the APA 7 format.
- The references section should start on a separate page.
Additional Information
Footnotes:
- Footnotes should be avoided whenever possible.
- If necessary, they should be written in 8 pt Amasis MT Pro.
Lists:
- Horizontal listing should be preferred over vertical listing.
- Roman numerals (i), (ii), (iii) should be used for listing items.
Manuscripts that comply with these writing guidelines will be considered for review and expedited for publication in Motif Akademi.
