Archiving Policy

Motif Akademi Journal – Archiving Policy

Motif Akademi is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and security of all published content. To achieve this, the journal follows a comprehensive digital archiving policy that aligns with international best practices.

  1. Digital Preservation and Archiving Systems

To safeguard the scholarly content and maintain its accessibility for future generations, Motif Akademi employs the following digital archiving systems:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Ensures that published articles are preserved through a decentralized and distributed system, guaranteeing long-term access.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): Provides additional backup and protection for all journal content in case of unexpected system failures.
  • Institutional Repositories: Authors are encouraged to store their published articles in institutional, university, or subject-based repositories.
  • National and International Digital Libraries: The journal collaborates with digital libraries and indexing services to ensure broader accessibility.
  1. Self-Archiving Rights for Authors

Motif Akademi supports the self-archiving of research and encourages authors to store different versions of their manuscripts in personal, institutional, or open-access repositories. Authors may archive the following versions of their manuscripts:

  • Preprint Version (Submitted version before peer review)
  • Postprint Version (Accepted but unpublished version after peer review)
  • Published Version (Final, formatted, and published version)

Authors can deposit their manuscripts in university archives, research databases, and public repositories to maximize the visibility and accessibility of their research.

  1. Data and Metadata Preservation
  • All published articles, metadata, and supplementary materials are stored in secure databases.
  • The journal ensures that all articles are permanently accessible and retrievable in their original format.
  • Each article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for reliable and persistent referencing.
  1. Policy on Journal Discontinuation

In the event that Motif Akademi ceases publication:

  • All published content will remain freely accessible through digital archives.
  • Archived articles will continue to be available via LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and institutional repositories.
  • The editorial team will ensure that content is transferred to another open-access platform or maintained through a trusted digital archive.
  1. Open Access and Permanent Availability
  • Motif Akademi follows an open-access publishing model, ensuring that all published articles remain permanently accessible without restrictions.
  • The journal does not impose any embargo periods, allowing immediate access to all articles.
  • Readers and researchers can access, download, and share all content without financial or technical barriers.

Motif Akademi is dedicated to the long-term preservation and accessibility of academic research. By implementing a strong archiving policy, the journal ensures that scholarly contributions remain available, secure, and widely accessible for future generations.
